Samsung has rolled out a major update to its Bixby voice assistant on 2025 smart TVs. The upgrade brings more natural and conversational interactions, using Generative AI to help users get quick answers or content suggestions without leaving their screen.
The improved Bixby now supports context-based conversations, allowing users to ask follow-up questions and receive relevant on-screen responses. Whether it’s asking general queries like the height of a mountain or getting playlist ideas, Bixby can deliver answers quickly. It also helps viewers learn more about what they’re watching by identifying people, shows or related topics through the “Click to Search” feature.
This update also makes Samsung TVs more useful as smart home hubs. With SmartThings integration, users can control connected devices through voice commands like adjusting the air conditioner or turning off the oven.
Bixby runs with built-in security powered by Samsung Knox. No user voice data is stored, protecting privacy while enabling personalized features.
The new Bixby experience is now available in South Korea and will expand to other regions. It will work on 2025 Samsung models like Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame. Samsung also plans to enhance Vision AI features later this year through its Tizen OS upgrade program.
