Sharp Electronics Corporation USA Corporation will take part in the 2nd SPEXA International Space Business Expo, held at Tokyo Big Sight from 30 July to 1 August. At the event, Sharp will exhibit its under-development LEO satellite communication terminal, drawing on its experience in compact design and mobile communication from smartphone development.
One of the key displays will be the LEO satellite communication terminal. This device is aimed at supporting real-time data transfer, location sharing and remote operations in areas with poor or no cellular coverage, such as seas and remote mountains. It is also being considered as a tool for maintaining business operations during disasters. Sharp will also show a concept version made for drones to support next-generation field applications.
Another exhibit is the satellite operation app, which helps users manage the terminal. It shows status, nearby obstacles and satellite positions. If the terminal malfunctions, the app offers troubleshooting steps to guide users through fixes.
Sharp will also share details from field trials where the terminal has been tested on ships and vehicles. These tests aim to improve reliability by identifying and solving real-world communication issues.
The company’s booth will be located at Tokyo Big Sight, South Hall, Booth S6-34.
