Siemens AG has completed its acquisition of Dotmatics, a life sciences R&D software company based in Boston, for $5.1 billion. Dotmatics will now operate under Siemens’ Digital Industries Software division, expanding the company’s software capabilities into the life sciences sector.
This move allows Siemens to integrate Dotmatics’ scientific tools into its broader product lifecycle management (PLM) portfolio. Dotmatics’ platform, Luma, supports drug development through AI-driven analysis, collaboration tools and data integration across the research-to-production pipeline.
By adding Dotmatics’ software to its portfolio, Siemens aims to provide more tailored solutions for life sciences companies, particularly those focused on drug discovery and development. The combined technologies are expected to support faster and more informed decision-making by connecting data across different stages of the product lifecycle.
