Industrial 5G Rollout Targets Manufacturing Connectivity and AI Workloads
Siemens is expanding its private 5G infrastructure to the United States and seven additional countries, increasing availability to 15 markets across Europe and the Americas.
The expansion is supported by new radio units, including a CBRS-band solution tailored for the U.S., enabling enterprises to deploy private 5G networks on their own premises. The infrastructure is designed for industrial use cases across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and heavy industries.
Siemens has also enhanced its 5G routers with edge runtime capabilities, allowing applications to run directly on the device. This supports real-time data processing and reduces the need for additional hardware in industrial environments.
The solution operates on licensed spectrum to provide stable and interference-free connectivity, addressing challenges posed by high data volumes and limitations of traditional wireless networks. It integrates with Siemens’ broader industrial portfolio, supporting automation protocols and secure network operations.
