Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a new mobile platform designed to deliver faster performance, better efficiency and advanced on-device AI. It features the 3rd Gen Qualcomm Oryon CPU, which Qualcomm says is the fastest mobile CPU to date, a new Adreno GPU for enhanced graphics and the Hexagon NPU for faster AI processing.
The platform is built to improve everyday mobile experiences like multitasking, gaming and personalized AI assistance. On-device AI enables agentic assistants to provide proactive recommendations and tailored interactions without sending user data off the device. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 also introduces Advanced Professional Video (APV) recording, allowing studio-grade video production on mobile devices with AI-powered camera support.
Flagship devices from major OEMs including Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and others will feature this platform, with new launches expected soon. Qualcomm said that this platform combines speed, efficiency and AI capabilities to enhance both current and emerging mobile experiences.
