Sony Group Corporation has once again been included in CDP’s Climate Change A List, marking the fifth consecutive year and the tenth overall time the company has received this recognition. The A List reflects CDP’s highest performance rating for companies addressing climate related risks and disclosures.
Sony’s approach is guided by its long term environmental plan called Road to Zero, which aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint across the entire Sony Group by 2050. As part of this effort, Sony has accelerated its net zero targets across Scopes 1 2 and 3 from 2050 to 2040. The company has also advanced its goal for using 100 percent renewable electricity at its own sites from 2040 to 2030. These targets have received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative.
To support these goals, Sony has implemented energy conservation measures across offices and manufacturing sites. It has expanded on site solar generation, increased procurement of renewable electricity and made use of renewable energy certificates. Sony also works with suppliers through its Partner Eco Challenge Program to reduce emissions across the supply chain.
