Sony India has introduced the ILCE-7V, the fifth-generation model in the Alpha 7 full-frame mirrorless series. The camera features a newly developed partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with 33MP resolution and the updated BIONZ XR2 processor, which includes the AI processing functions seen in recent Alpha models. These updates contribute to improvements in autofocus recognition, tracking, and overall imaging performance. Sony also announced the FE 28–70mm F3.5–5.6 OSS II lens, designed to support high-speed continuous shooting on the ILCE-7V.
The ILCE-7V offers expanded autofocus coverage, improved subject detection in low light, and high-speed continuous shooting at up to 30fps with blackout-free operation. Additional options such as Pre-Capture, enhanced RAW processing support, and extended dynamic range are included to offer more control in still and video work. For video users, the camera supports oversampled 4K recording, high-frame-rate modes, upgraded stabilization options, and AI-assisted auto framing.
The new model also includes updates in battery performance, thermal management, and audio processing to support longer recording sessions. Sony notes that the production of the ILCE-7V and the new lens aligns with its ‘Road to Zero’ environmental vision, with facilities using renewable energy and packaging designed to reduce plastic use. The ILCE-7V will be available starting 10 December 2025, with the M-kit following in February 2026.
