Sony will play a key role as an official partner of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25, taking place at Japan National Stadium from September 13 to 21, 2025. The company will provide technologies such as Alpha mirrorless cameras, G Master lenses, portable data transmitters, and broadcasting solutions to support content creation and news reporting. These tools will help photographers and videographers capture and share athletes’ performances with audiences worldwide.
As part of the World Athletics Media Academy, Sony will support a workshop for eleven young photographers from different countries. The program will provide guidance from professionals and practical opportunities to develop skills in sports journalism. Hawk-Eye Innovations, a Sony group company, will also provide officiating support with video replay systems for track and field events, ensuring fair and accurate decisions that will also be shared with viewers for better understanding.
Sony will set up a Camera Service Booth to support accredited photographers with equipment and technical assistance, while also collecting feedback for product development. Additionally, through a collaboration with Project KIBO, children and families will be invited to the stadium to experience workshops and photography sessions. Sony will also host exhibitions and interactive booths in Tokyo to bring fans closer to the event.
