Sony will open Digital Media Production Center Japan in February 2026 at its headquarters in Minato ku Tokyo. It will be the company’s third global center after locations in the US and UK.

The facility will support end to end media production workflows, from filming and virtual production to XR based spatial content creation and post production. It will enable creators to test cinema cameras such as VENICE 2, lighting systems and studio environments, alongside virtual production tools including Crystal LED VERONA and camera tracking systems.

The center also includes color grading facilities with professional reference monitors and integrated production studios for streamlined testing. XR solutions under the XYN suite will support 3DCG, motion capture and spatial content development.

Initially focused on professional creators, the center will later expand to support next generation talent. Sony said the facility will promote collaboration, workflow validation and knowledge exchange across global production hubs.
