Google is expanding its AI Mode for Search in India, making the experience more intuitive, conversational, and accessible. Following its strong adoption in English and Hindi, AI Mode is now rolling out in seven additional Indian languages Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Powered by Google’s custom Gemini model, this update allows users to ask complex questions naturally in their preferred language, improving understanding beyond translation.
Alongside this, Google is introducing Search Live, a new voice and camera-based conversational feature within AI Mode. India becomes the first country outside the U.S. to experience it, available in English and Hindi. With Search Live, users can talk directly to Search or use their camera for real-time help from solving DIY issues to exploring new places or assisting with schoolwork. For example, users can show ingredients to ask how to make an iced matcha and get instant guidance.
Search Live starts rolling out today and will reach more users in the coming weeks. To try it, open the Google app and tap the ‘Live’ icon under the search bar or open Lens and select ‘Live’.
