Tata Electronics is seeking a Machine Control Engineer with strong coding skills and an interest in AI, reinforcement learning (RL), and smart automation. The role involves developing and improving control systems for advanced industrial machines while using AI-driven methods to enhance precision, efficiency and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize real-time control systems for manufacturing and automation
- Develop control algorithms in Python, C++ or MATLAB
- Work with PLCs, motion control, and CNC systems
- Integrate AI and ML models for predictive maintenance, fault detection, and process optimization
- Apply reinforcement learning to improve machine decision-making
- Create simulation environments to test and refine machine behavior
- Collaborate with AI, automation, and manufacturing teams
- Troubleshoot and improve system efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related fields
- 1 to 3 years of experience in machine control or automation
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++ or MATLAB
- Experience with PLCs, motion control, or robotics
- Knowledge of real-time computing or embedded systems
- Eagerness to learn AI, ML, and RL for machine control
- Strong problem-solving and debugging ability
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital twins, IoT, or edge computing
- Knowledge of control theory or PID tuning
- Exposure to deep RL methods (DQN, PPO, SAC)
- Familiarity with robotic simulation tools (MuJoCo, PyBullet, Gazebo)
