Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has announced the launch of a new CMOS dual comparator designed for overcurrent detection in industrial equipment. The product named TC75W71FU offers high speed response and a full input and output range with rail to rail operation. Shipments have started from December 24, 2025.

Industrial systems such as motor drives and power circuits often handle large currents. Sudden overcurrent can damage equipment disrupt production and create safety risks. As designs move toward higher efficiency and smaller form factors tolerance margins for current and voltage are narrowing which increases the need for fast and accurate detection.

The new comparator delivers faster response compared to earlier models with propagation delays of up to 45ns for low to high transitions and 30ns for high to low transitions. This allows quicker shutdown during fault conditions and supports improved equipment protection.

The device supports a full voltage range from ground to supply voltage and operates with a minimum supply of 1.8V which helps with low voltage designs. It also uses a push pull output that removes the need for external pull up resistors and enables stable signal levels with faster rise and fall times.

Toshiba also plans to introduce additional variants including TC75W72FU with added hysteresis for noise resistance and TC75W73FU which combines hysteresis with an open drain output. These models are scheduled to enter mass production in February 2026. Toshiba stated it will continue expanding its comparator lineup to support safety and reliability needs in industrial applications.
