YouTube is expanding its use of AI to help creators and viewers interact more effectively with content. The platform is rolling out Edit with AI for all creators in India through the YouTube Create app. This tool automatically assembles raw footage into a usable first draft by identifying key moments, adding music, transitions, and optional voice-overs in English or Hindi, including styles such as Cricket commentary and Shayari. Creations made through this feature will carry SynthID watermarks and labels to indicate the use of AI.
YouTube is also introducing a conversational AI tool within the video player, designed to offer quick, context-based responses without disrupting the viewing experience. Viewers can ask questions, get ingredient lists from cooking videos, explore related topics, or receive recommendations. The feature is currently available in English, with Hindi support coming soon.
To address concerns around identity misuse, YouTube has begun an open beta of likeness detection for participants in the YouTube Partner Program. This technology allows creators to track where their facial likeness appears across the platform and request the removal of unauthorized or AI-modified content.
These updates reflect YouTube’s ongoing efforts to enhance creation, discovery, and protection across its ecosystem.
