At AGRITECHNICA 2025, Bosch Engineering introduced a high-performance 800-volt electrification system designed specifically for agricultural machinery, combining compact design, efficiency, and robust performance. The solution is built around the Bosch SMG230 electric motor and a high-efficiency inverter featuring silicon carbide power modules, enabling a continuous output of 188 kW and peak torque of 550 Nm. With efficiency exceeding 99%, the system ensures high power density and reduced energy loss, making it suitable for both battery-electric drives in smaller machines and hybrid configurations in larger ones.
The compact dimensions of the drive facilitate integration into existing platforms, while its 800-volt architecture delivers greater performance and energy efficiency than comparable 400-volt systems. This results in lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and improved sustainability, especially when paired with renewable on-site energy sources such as biogas or solar power.
Developed using proven automotive technologies, the system emphasizes durability, safety, and diagnostic reliability. When combined with Bosch Rexroth’s transmission solutions, such as the eGFV9120 coaxial gearbox, it offers a flexible and scalable approach to agricultural electrification. The complete solution will be showcased in Hall 16, Booth A05, highlighting Bosch’s commitment to advancing clean, efficient, and connected agricultural technologies.
