Roma Datta Chobey appointed as Managing Director at Google India

Roma Datta Chobey has been appointed Managing Director at Google India. In this role she will lead Digital First Businesses across e commerce, fintech, edtech, gaming, travel, foodtech, SaaS, media, telco and government segments. Her focus will be on revenue growth, strategic initiatives and strengthening Google’s position in India’s digital economy. She has earlier served as Interim Country Manager for India.

She also serves as Chairman of the Technology Committee at FICCI and is a member of its National Steering Committee contributing to industry policy discussions. Before joining Google she held senior roles at HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered, ABN AMRO Bank, IDBI Bank and Bank of Punjab. She brings over 25 years of experience across banking and digital businesses.
