Acer India has launched a new laptop manufacturing facility in Puducherry, in collaboration with its contract manufacturer Plumage Solutions. This new plant established under the Indian government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for IT Hardware is part of Acer’s broader strategy to expand domestic production and reduce its reliance on imports.
The facility has an annual production capacity of 300,000 laptops and is expected to create new jobs while supporting the local economy.
In addition to laptops, the partnership with Plumage already includes the production of monitors, all-in-one desktops, servers, workstations and power adapters. This move is intended to strengthen Acer’s supply chain in India, shorten delivery times and help the company deliver its products at competitive prices.
