Boston Dynamics Atlas Wins Best Robot Award at CES 2026

Boston Dynamics humanoid robot Atlas has been named Best Robot in the Best of CES™ 2026 Awards by CNET Group. The recognition was announced at CES 2026 in Las Vegas where Atlas was introduced as part of Hyundai Motor Group’s AI robotics strategy.

The award was decided by technology journalists from CNET PCMag Mashable ZDNET and Lifehacker. Atlas was selected for its natural human like movement sleek industrial design and readiness for real world deployment. Judges highlighted its realistic walking gait and suitability for manufacturing environments.

Atlas is planned for deployment at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia by 2028. Initial use will focus on tasks such as parts sequencing with later expansion to component assembly and other repetitive or physically demanding work by 2030. The goal is to improve safety and efficiency in factory operations.

Atlas is designed as a general purpose humanoid robot for industrial use. It can be trained for tasks quickly operates autonomously lifts up to 50 kg and works across a wide temperature range with durability suited for factory conditions.
