Canon Inc. has received the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Commissioner’s Award for its A3 color laser printer series Satera LBP810 at the 2025 Energy Conservation Grand Prize Awards in Japan. The recognition was given in the Product and Business Model category for the series’ focus on energy efficiency and lifecycle-based environmental design.

The Satera LBP810 series uses newly developed toner technology that improves transfer efficiency and lowers power use during printing and standby. This has reduced typical electricity consumption by 28% compared to previous models, achieving 0.37 kilowatt-hours, which is among the lowest levels in the laser printer segment.

Canon also reduced the printer body size by around 20% and cut toner cartridge weight by 27%, lowering raw material use. Additional improvements include more efficient production processes, better transport efficiency through compact design and expanded toner cartridge recycling.

Together, these measures have reduced carbon dioxide emissions across the full product lifecycle by about 28% compared to earlier models, while maintaining high print quality.
