China Calls Meeting With Leading Battery Makers to Address Price Competition

Chinese authorities have convened senior executives from major battery manufacturers and suppliers to address growing concerns around aggressive price competition in the battery sector. The meeting brought together around 16 companies across power battery and energy storage supply chains.

Regulators used the session to urge companies to avoid below cost pricing and unchecked capacity expansion. Officials highlighted that prolonged price wars could weaken financial stability reduce product quality and disrupt the long term development of the industry. Companies were encouraged to compete through technology reliability and service rather than pricing alone.
