Daikin Industries, Ltd. will begin demonstrations of a new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system at Toyota Woven City from September 25, 2025. The initiative focuses on creating pollen-free spaces and developing “personalized functional spaces” that combine air, video, audio, and scents to enhance comfort, health, and productivity. These efforts address social issues such as hay fever and chronic stress, aiming to deliver practical applications in homes, offices, commercial facilities, retail, and mobility spaces.
For the pollen-free system, Daikin will study how pollen enters residential dwellings and test equipment combinations and operating methods to minimize its presence indoors. Sensors measuring temperature, humidity, pollen levels, dust, and human movement will help identify entry pathways and assess effectiveness. Feedback from residents will also guide improvements.
In parallel, Daikin will test an integrated control system that links environmental factors with multisensory elements. By adjusting air conditions alongside video, audio, and scents, the system aims to create tailored spaces for focus, relaxation, or emotional well-being. For example, it could simulate cool, quiet highlands for concentration or tropical environments for relaxation. Resident experiences and biometric data will be used to verify effectiveness and refine the approach.
