Daikin has opened a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, Haryana, in partnership with consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY). This new unit, named the Daikin Innovation and Services Hub, is designed to handle technology, finance, digital, data and artificial intelligence functions.
The new centre is expected to employ around 700 professionals over the next year. These hires will focus on building digital tools, managing financial services and using AI and data analytics to support Daikin’s global business. The company has clarified that the purpose of the GCC is not to cut costs, but to boost innovation and bring India into the core of its global operations.
India is already Daikin’s third-largest market worldwide. In the 2024–25 financial year, the company recorded revenue of ₹12,500 crore in the country. India is also a manufacturing base for Daikin, supplying products to several regions including Africa, South America and neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The partnership with EY is focused on building the GCC from the ground up. EY will help Daikin in hiring talent, building internal systems and defining how the centre will work. Daikin’s India leadership, including Managing Director KJ Jawa, has played a key role in pushing this plan forward. Jawa is also the only non-Japanese member on Daikin’s global board.
