Dattatreya Badami has been appointed as General Manager and Head – Business Development (Nuclear) at Larsen & Toubro Construction, marking a new phase in his professional journey spanning nearly four decades in the nuclear power sector.
In his new role, Badami will be responsible for leading business development initiatives within the nuclear vertical, with a focus on expanding the company’s project pipeline, strengthening strategic partnerships, and supporting growth across domestic and international nuclear opportunities.
Prior to this elevation, he served as Joint General Manager (Contracts) at L&T Construction, where he was involved in handling high-value proposals and contract management. During this tenure, he contributed to strengthening the organisation’s nuclear portfolio and played a key role in securing contracts valued at over USD 1 billion.
Before joining L&T, Badami spent close to 29 years with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) as Senior Executive Engineer. His experience includes work on Indian BSR and PHWR projects, Russian 1000 MW and 1200 MW LWR reactors, and exposure to EDF’s EPR plant technologies. Over the years, he has built expertise in end-to-end project execution, contracts, and nuclear business development.
With his industry experience and technical background, Badami is expected to support L&T Construction’s ongoing and future nuclear business initiatives in a structured and execution-focused manner.
