Foxconn confirmed a Rs 15,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu after a meeting with CM M K Stalin. The company’s India representative Robert Wu attended the discussions with the industries minister and senior officials. The state will set up a Foxconn Desk at Guidance Tamil Nadu to fast track coordination and clearances. The plan targets around 14,000 engineering jobs across phases. Focus areas include value added manufacturing R&D integration AI led operations and battery technologies. Foxconn already assembles iPhones in Sriperumbudur which gives the plan an existing base.
