Garmin Autoland and Autothrottle Certified for King Air Aircraft

Garmin has received FAA certification for its Autoland and Autothrottle systems in select Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft equipped with the G1000 NXi flight deck. Autothrottle is also approved for King Air 300 aircraft, with Autoland expected to follow. These upgrades bring advanced safety features and help reduce pilot workload in busy flight conditions.

Autothrottle automatically manages engine power from takeoff to landing. It prevents throttle rollback, adjusts settings for climb, cruise and descent, and offers protection against overtemperature or overtorque. The system also responds to overspeed or underspeed conditions and adapts in case of an engine failure.

Autoland adds another layer of protection by taking full control of the aircraft in an emergency. It selects the best airport and runway, communicates with air traffic control and safely lands the aircraft without pilot input. Passengers receive clear visual and audio updates throughout the process.

The upgrade also includes new Garmin features such as enhanced 3D airport views, runway safety tools, single-engine stability support and advanced weather radar. FAA Data Comm is also available for improved communication with air traffic control.

Autoland and Autothrottle can now be retrofitted on select King Air 300 and 350 aircraft through Garmin Authorized Dealers.
