Gemini has introduced Personal Intelligence, a new feature that makes the assistant more personal by securely connecting select Google apps. Launched as a beta in the U.S., it allows users to link apps like Gmail Photos YouTube and Search with a single tap to get more relevant and proactive help.
Personal Intelligence works by reasoning across emails, photos, videos and search history to answer questions with context. Users stay in full control since the feature is off by default and each app connection can be turned on or off at any time. Gemini also explains where information comes from so answers are easy to verify.
The feature helps with everyday tasks like finding details from emails or photos planning travel suggesting books or recommending products based on past preferences. It can combine insights across multiple sources to save time and reduce effort in daily decision-making.
Connected data is only used to respond to specific requests and is not directly used to train models. Users can pause personalization use temporary chats or delete history whenever they want. Gemini also avoids making assumptions about sensitive topics unless users ask.
Personal Intelligence is rolling out to eligible Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. and works across web Android and iOS. Google plans to expand availability to more countries and users over time.
