Google announced the expansion of Chrome’s AI features to India, New Zealand and Canada. The update introduces Gemini in Chrome along with support for more than 50 additional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil.

Gemini in Chrome allows users to interact with an AI assistant directly within the browser without switching tabs. The assistant can summarize web pages, answer questions, generate quizzes and help retrieve previously visited pages.

The AI features also integrate with Google services such as Gmail, Maps, Calendar and YouTube. Users can draft emails, schedule meetings or view location details directly from the Chrome side panel.

Chrome’s AI can also analyze information across multiple open tabs to compare products, organize research or consolidate data.

Another feature, Nano Banana 2, allows users to edit or transform images directly in the browser using text prompts. The AI capabilities are built on the Gemini 3.1 model and are initially rolling out on desktop and iOS devices.
