The feature allows users to ask complex location related questions using text or voice and receive personalized responses. Ask Maps combines real time map data with information from more than 300 million places and insights from over 500 million community contributors.

Users can ask questions such as comparing travel options between driving and public transport or finding restaurants and cafes along a route. The system analyzes traffic conditions travel time and nearby locations to provide recommendations.

Ask Maps can also help users plan outings or trips by suggesting places based on specific needs such as accessible locations for senior citizens or restaurants that match dietary preferences.

The feature personalizes responses based on previous searches saved locations and user preferences within Google Maps.

Ask Maps is rolling out in India and the United States in English on Android and iOS with Hindi language support planned soon.
