The government of India has reopened the application window for the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for White Goods, covering air conditioners and LED lights. The window will remain open from 15 September to 14 October 2025 on the official online portal. This decision follows increased industry interest and confidence in local manufacturing of key components.
The scheme will accept applications from both new participants and existing beneficiaries who wish to increase investments or shift to higher target segments. Applicants must follow the eligibility conditions and investment schedules laid out in the original scheme guidelines. Incentives will apply only for the remaining tenure of the scheme, with new approvals eligible for benefits up to a maximum of two years.
Since its launch in 2021 the scheme has approved 83 applicants with committed investments of over ₹10,400 crore. These investments aim to strengthen the domestic supply chain for AC and LED components, many of which were previously imported. The scheme, with an outlay of ₹6,238 crore, will run until 2028-29 as part of the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative to boost manufacturing and job creation in India.
