Hitachi has agreed to acquire German data and AI services firm synvert through its U.S. subsidiary GlobalLogic. The deal, expected to close by March 2026 pending regulatory approval, will expand Hitachi’s AI portfolio and strengthen its HMAX business, which focuses on Agentic AI and Physical AI for operational autonomy and digital transformation.
synvert provides consulting expertise in AI-driven business design, data governance, and advanced analytics. With over 200 clients and 550 specialists, the firm also partners with platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Its presence across Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and the Middle East will help Hitachi extend its reach in Europe and beyond.
By integrating synvert’s strengths with GlobalLogic’s AI and digital engineering, Hitachi aims to deliver end-to-end enterprise solutions across the data lifecycle. This supports its broader AI strategy under Lumada 3.0, evolving from generative AI to more advanced systems that coordinate complex tasks (Agentic AI) and interact with the physical world (Physical AI).
