Honeywell and Stereolabs Develop Mobile Solution for Logistics Efficiency

Honeywell has partnered with Stereolabs to create a mobile system that measures the size, volume and weight of boxes and pallets in distribution centers. The aim is to speed up deliveries and reduce shipping costs.

The solution combines Stereolabs stereoscopic cameras, which use AI-based vision to measure dimensions, with Honeywell’s Swift Decoder software, which reads barcodes and captures written information. This integration will help logistics teams plan truck loading, determine the number of vehicles required and track transported items more effectively.

Currently, many warehouses still rely on manual methods like tape measures and weigh scales or fixed conveyor-based systems. The new mobile approach is designed to allow faster, more flexible operations by capturing all relevant data in one place.

The system pairs Stereolabs ZED stereoscopic camera with Honeywell’s decoding software to gather weight and size information, then uploads it to a central database. Businesses can then analyze the volume and makeup of shipments in real time, enabling more efficient transport, loading and unloading of goods.
