Meta has announced a multi year agreement of up to USD 6 billion with Corning to supply fiber optic cables for Meta’s data center infrastructure.

Under the agreement Corning will provide high performance fiber optic cables used to connect servers and transfer data across Meta’s U.S. data centers. The partnership is expected to support a 15 to 20% increase in jobs at Corning’s facilities in North Carolina along with expanded manufacturing capacity including investment at the Trivium Corporate Center in Catawba County.

The deal supports Meta’s growing data center footprint in the United States which already includes 26 sites under construction or in operation. These facilities support large scale AI workloads and services across Meta’s platforms and devices. By sourcing domestically manufactured fiber Meta aims to strengthen U.S. supply chains and support advanced manufacturing tied to AI infrastructure.

The agreement reflects a broader push to build data center technology using U.S. based innovation and production while supporting skilled jobs across manufacturing engineering and operations.
