Meta has announced plans to form a joint venture with Reliance Industries Limited to build enterprise AI solutions using Meta’s Llama models. The collaboration aims to bring generative AI closer to Indian businesses by creating industry-specific applications across functions such as sales, customer service, IT, finance, and marketing.
The joint venture will combine Meta’s open-source AI models with Reliance’s digital infrastructure, including Jio’s connectivity and advanced AI data centers, to deliver scalable solutions at lower costs. Organizations will have the flexibility to deploy applications on the cloud, on-premise or through Reliance’s infrastructure ensuring secure and efficient AI integration.
The initiative is designed to make advanced AI tools more accessible for Indian enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized businesses. By reducing entry barriers the partnership seeks to drive faster innovation and create a level playing field in the adoption of AI.
Subject to regulatory approvals, the venture is expected to close later in 2025 and will mark an important step in advancing AI adoption across India’s digital economy.
