Nissan has introduced the Nissan Scalable Open Software Platform, a new cloud based system built on Amazon Web Services to speed up Software Defined Vehicle development. The platform supports Nissan’s shift toward vehicles shaped increasingly by software, enabling faster feature creation, improved testing, and collaboration across global teams. It also marks a major step in the company’s digital transformation work that began with AWS in 2023.
Using the new platform, Nissan has reduced vehicle software test execution time by 75 percent by automating processes that were previously manual. The environment also links more than 5,000 developers worldwide with standardized tools and shared resources, allowing teams to work from any region without barriers.
The platform will support future AI based capabilities across Nissan’s SDV roadmap. The company has already been expanding AI use in advanced driver assistance. In 2025, Nissan demonstrated next generation ProPILOT features designed to handle complex traffic. These systems are planned for production vehicles in Japan in fiscal year 2027.
