Nokia has announced a strategic partnership with OneLayer to enhance the security and efficiency of private 5G/LTE networks for utilities. The collaboration integrates Nokia’s mission-critical private network solutions with OneLayer’s OT asset management and zero-trust security framework, enabling utilities to modernize their grids with improved device visibility, operational efficiency, and resilience against cyber threats.
As the number of connected devices in private networks grows, utilities face increased exposure to security risks. Nokia’s NetGuard Endpoint Detection and Response and NetGuard portfolio provide telco-grade threat detection, access control, and certificate management, while OneLayer Bridge™ extends protection to field devices and endpoints. Together, the joint solution delivers comprehensive OT and IoT visibility, micro-segmentation, geofencing, anomaly detection, and automated mitigation, reducing attack surfaces and accelerating incident response.
According to Prakash Sagadopan, Head of Enterprise-Wide Area Networks at Nokia, this partnership brings secure, reliable, and scalable solutions to mission-critical environments. Dave Mor, CEO of OneLayer, highlighted the collaboration as a milestone that empowers utilities to adopt private 5G/LTE securely and efficiently.
