Nokia has published its People and Planet Impact Report 2025, showcasing how digital connectivity is driving positive change for people, businesses, and societies worldwide. The report highlights both Nokia’s internal sustainability progress and its role in enabling customers to create measurable social and environmental benefits.

Nokia is advancing its Net Zero by 2040 goal, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Since 2020, the company has reduced total greenhouse gas emissions by 36%, including a 56% reduction among final assembly suppliers and a 30% cut in emissions from products in use. Product innovations such as AirScale 5G base stations (50% less energy use vs. 2019) and FP5 chipsets (75% less power consumption) reflect its drive for energy efficiency and circular design.

The report also illustrates real-world impacts with customers. In Brazil, Vale is using Nokia’s digital twins to improve safety and productivity by up to 25%. At Vera Cruz do Xingu Farm, a private LTE network cut fuel use by 3–5% and maintenance costs by 8–10%. In Peru, Nokia and Global Fiber Peru are deploying a fiber network to connect 400 Amazon communities, providing internet access to over 500,000 people.
