NVIDIA and Intel announced a partnership to co-develop custom data center and personal computing products aimed at advancing AI and accelerated computing. The collaboration will connect NVIDIA’s AI and GPU expertise with Intel’s CPU technologies and x86 ecosystem through NVIDIA NVLink.
For data centers, Intel will design custom x86 CPUs for NVIDIA, which will be integrated into NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure platforms. For personal computing, Intel will build new x86 system-on-chips (SoCs) that integrate NVIDIA RTX GPU chiplets, enabling PCs with combined CPU and GPU capabilities. These products will target hyperscale, enterprise, and consumer markets.
As part of the partnership, NVIDIA will invest $5 billion in Intel’s common stock at $23.28 per share, subject to regulatory approvals. Both companies positioned the deal as a way to strengthen their ecosystems and expand innovation across computing.
