NVIDIA and Synopsys have announced a multiyear partnership aimed at integrating accelerated computing and AI technologies into engineering and design workflows across multiple industries. As part of the collaboration, NVIDIA has invested $2 billion in Synopsys common stock. The partnership focuses on addressing challenges faced by R&D teams, including rising design complexity, higher development costs and increasing pressure on time-to-market.
The companies plan to accelerate Synopsys’ compute-intensive applications by incorporating NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and AI-driven physics technologies. Their joint work will also support agentic AI capabilities by combining Synopsys AgentEngineer with the NVIDIA agentic AI stack, enabling more automated design and verification processes. Another pillar of the collaboration involves advancing digital twin development using platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos, supporting virtual testing and validation across semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, robotics and other sectors.
Additionally, the partnership aims to make GPU-accelerated engineering tools more accessible through cloud-ready solutions. Joint go-to-market efforts will tap into Synopsys’ global sales network to expand the reach of these technologies. While the partnership is significant, both companies will continue collaborating with the wider semiconductor and EDA ecosystem.
