OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser that integrates ChatGPT directly into the browsing experience. Atlas allows users to interact with ChatGPT on any webpage without switching tabs or copying content. It can understand context, perform tasks, and remember useful details through optional browser memories. Users can view, delete, or disable these memories anytime, keeping full control of their data.
Atlas introduces agent mode, which enables ChatGPT to complete tasks within the browser such as researching topics, summarizing webpages, or even shopping online. This feature is available in preview for Plus, Pro, and Business users. The browser includes strong privacy controls and parental settings to manage access, memory use, and AI actions.
Available worldwide on macOS, Atlas will soon expand to Windows, iOS, and Android. Users can import bookmarks, passwords, and history from their current browser after signing in. Atlas aims to make web use more connected and productive by bringing AI assistance directly into daily browsing.
