Proximus has selected Nokia to modernize its online charging system and voice core as part of its digital transformation program. The move supports higher automation, flexible scaling and future ready services.
Under the agreement, Proximus will migrate its full fixed and mobile customer base along with more than 1,000 products to Nokia Converged Charging. The cloud native platform will fully replace an existing competitor charging system and enable new business models and service innovation.
Proximus will also deploy Nokia’s cloud native Voice Core, Subscriber Data Management and Policy solutions. These upgrades are designed to improve network automation and support the operator’s transition toward more autonomous networks. The modernization will also help Proximus launch new 5G monetization services.
All Nokia solutions will be deployed on Proximus’ own cloud infrastructure using Red Hat OpenShift. The approach allows Proximus to maintain control of its environment while benefiting from scalable and cloud native network capabilities.
