Position: Principal Engineer Manager – IoT Multimedia Software

Qualcomm is looking for an experienced embedded software professional to work on multimedia software for IoT platforms. This role focuses on camera, video, audio and display software. The person will work with global teams and customers and help improve performance, power efficiency and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop embedded multimedia software for IoT platforms
• Work on camera, video, audio and display software components
• Build and debug Android and Linux device drivers and frameworks
• Design end to end multimedia use cases and features
• Debug and fix issues in existing code
• Improve system performance and power efficiency
• Work with global engineering teams and customers
• Provide technical support to customers
• Travel to customer sites and Qualcomm offices when required

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience
• OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
• OR PhD with 6+ years of experience
• Strong programming skills in C and C++
• Hands on experience with Android and Linux multimedia frameworks
• Experience in at least one multimedia area such as camera, video, audio, display or graphics
• Strong knowledge of OS fundamentals like memory management, scheduling and synchronization
• Experience handling real time issues like memory corruption, deadlocks and race conditions
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Experience with Git and version control tools
• Familiarity with interfaces like MIPI, I2C, GPIO, DSI and HDMI
