Samsung and AMD have advanced their strategic collaboration across 5G Core, virtualised RAN and private networks, moving from joint verification to commercial deployment.

Samsung was recently selected by Videotron to deploy 5G Non-Standalone and 4G LTE Core gateway solutions powered by AMD EPYC 9005 Series CPUs. This strengthens Samsung’s cloud native AI core footprint in Canada.

At MWC 2026, Samsung will showcase AI powered vRAN using AMD EPYC processors, following successful multi cell testing at its R&D lab. The companies achieved commercial grade AI vRAN performance on a fully virtualised software stack without additional accelerators, supporting reduced hardware dependency and greater operator flexibility.

Samsung will also present its Network in a Server solution, a virtualised Edge AI platform powered by AMD CPUs. Verified with a major Japanese operator, use cases include video analytics, sensor and radar detection using ISAC technology and hyperconnectivity for next generation devices.

The collaboration supports open, AI native and cloud native network architectures, enabling operators to scale automation and intelligent services across RAN and Core environments.
