Samsung Electronics has expanded its Home Appliance Remote Management service to 122 countries with support in 17 languages. The service allows users of SmartThings-connected appliances to receive remote diagnostic support from service centers. With customer consent, advisors can check data such as refrigerator temperature, dryer moisture levels or air conditioner performance, and provide real-time solutions without requiring in-person visits.
First launched in Korea in 2020 and piloted in 10 countries in 2024, HRM now supports refrigerators and washing machines globally. To strengthen adoption, Samsung has added multilingual support, helping more regions access the service. Screen-sharing capabilities are also being introduced for appliances like Bespoke refrigerators and washing machines, allowing real-time diagnosis of display or app-related issues.
The system helps solve simple problems remotely, while also preparing technicians with diagnostic data for necessary visits, reducing repair times. In countries such as the U.S. and India, HRM is also used proactively to detect risks and inform users before issues escalate.
Rising adoption rates and higher customer satisfaction scores in markets like France and India highlight the impact of HRM in making appliance support faster and more effective worldwide.
