Samsung Electronics has launched the Perplexity TV App, the first Perplexity AI-powered television application, expanding its Vision AI Companion experience. The app enables users to engage with real-time, AI-driven insights and information directly on Samsung TVs. Developed in collaboration with Perplexity, an AI-powered answer engine, the app helps users find accurate information, explore topics of interest, and interact through suggested follow-up questions.

According to Samsung’s Dan Glassman, the partnership enhances the company’s Vision AI Platform by integrating personalized and intuitive AI support for users. Ryan Foutty of Perplexity added that the collaboration brings the platform’s familiar functionality to Samsung’s global audience.

Unveiled earlier this month at IFA 2025, the Vision AI Companion integrates Samsung’s advanced AI features into one accessible interface. The Perplexity TV App can assist users with a range of activities from planning trips to discovering entertainment via voice or text inputs. The interface presents results in visually rich, card-style layouts optimized for TV viewing.

The app is now available on all 2025 Samsung TVs and will roll out to 2023 and 2024 models through a future OS update. Users can also redeem a complimentary 12-month Perplexity Pro subscription through the app.
