Samsung Electronics has secured the top position in annual Android smartphone sales volume at BCN AWARD 2026 in Japan. The recognition is based on cumulative sales data from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

The BCN AWARD uses data from the BCN Ranking which tracks point of sale information from around 2,350 electronics retailers, computer stores and online shops across Japan. The methodology reflects sustained sales performance over the full year rather than short term trends.

Samsung’s ranking was supported by a wide range of Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 contributed strongly with their foldable designs, camera upgrades and AI powered features. Galaxy Z Fold7 was noted as the thinnest and lightest horizontally folding smartphone released in Japan.

The Galaxy S25 series also played a key role as Samsung’s next generation AI smartphone lineup with early adoption of AI agent features. In the mass market segment, Galaxy A25 5G added to overall sales volume with its large display and focus on video and social media use.
