Siemens and TRUMPF have entered into a partnership to strengthen digital manufacturing and prepare for wider adoption of AI in industrial production. The collaboration will bring together Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio with TRUMPF’s expertise in machine tools and manufacturing software.
A central focus of the initiative is addressing the longstanding disconnect between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems in factories. By developing open and interoperable interfaces, the two companies aim to make system integration more seamless, improving how data flows across production environments. This step is expected to support faster decision-making, more flexible operations and the gradual introduction of AI-based applications in areas such as motion control.
Both Siemens and TRUMPF view the integration of hardware and software as essential to meeting the increasing complexity of industrial production.
