Toshiba is helping modernize postal and logistics systems in Central Asia through automation powered by robotics. The company is working with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to test and deploy autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that handle key tasks such as mail sorting and warehouse operations.

In Azerbaijan, Toshiba partnered with Azerpost to introduce compact AMR-based mail sorting. Unlike traditional systems that need large spaces and high investment, these robots can work in smaller facilities while adapting to unpredictable mail volumes. This approach supports the country’s growing e-commerce market and future plans for centralized processing centers.

In Kazakhstan, Toshiba worked with Kazpost to deploy a Goods-to-Person (G2P) warehouse system. Here, AMRs bring shelves directly to workers, reducing labor strain and improving efficiency. Customized for local conditions, the system has already improved fulfillment operations and working conditions.

Toshiba’s expertise comes from 60 years of experience in postal automation, now combined with Japanese robotics. The company is also developing future-ready solutions, including robots powered by its SCiB lithium-ion batteries for faster charging and reliable operation in cold environments.
