Toshiba Group’s Heavy Ion Therapy System CI-1000 has received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award and the GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARD at the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025, marking it as one of only three designs to earn Japan’s highest design distinction this year. Selected among the GOOD DESIGN BEST 100, the CI-1000 was recognized for advancing cancer irradiation therapy through miniaturization, enhanced user experience, and contribution to patient well-being eliminating the need for surgery or hospitalization.

These achievements reflect Toshiba’s commitment to human-centered design, sustainability, and innovation across healthcare, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Award-winning designs will be showcased at the GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2025 in Tokyo Midtown from November 1–5, 2025.
