VinFast has announced that its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs have achieved the highest 5 star safety certification under India’s Bharat New Car Assessment Programme. The results were shared on January 21, 2026 and confirm strong performance across adult and child occupant protection tests.
Under Bharat NCAP testing, VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. VF 7 recorded 28.54 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45.25 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. Both vehicles achieved full scores in frontal and side impact tests for adult and child occupants.
In pole side impact tests, head injury values for VF 6 and VF 7 were significantly below the Bharat NCAP safety threshold, indicating effective protection in severe crash scenarios. Bharat NCAP ratings range from three to five stars and are aligned with global safety assessment standards.
VF 6 and VF 7 are assembled at VinFast’s facility in Tamil Nadu and are built on an EV dedicated platform. Both models feature seven airbags and offer advanced driver assistance systems depending on variant. The certification supports VinFast’s broader electric vehicle strategy in India including local manufacturing, retail presence, charging infrastructure and aftersales services.
