Xbox and Microsoft have partnered with Special Olympics since 2014 to make gaming more inclusive and accessible for athletes of all abilities. Together, they’ve built platforms that highlight talent, teamwork, and the joy of play, helping break barriers for people with intellectual disabilities.

The collaboration includes the annual Gaming for Inclusion esports tournament, where Special Olympics athletes and their Unified partners compete in games like Rocket League and Minecraft Education. These events showcase skill and community spirit while promoting empathy and inclusion through gaming.

This year’s Gaming for Inclusion Celebrity Showcase 2025 airs on October 14 at 10 AM Pacific on the Xbox Twitch and XboxASL channels, with highlights from athlete tournaments and appearances by creators and celebrities.

Earlier this year, Xbox hosted Special Olympics athletes at Game Camp 2025 in Redmond for hands-on learning in coding, game design, and accessibility innovation. The experience offered mentorship and insight into gaming careers.
