Xiaomi has unveiled the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at a launch event in Beijing and announced an upgraded global imaging strategic cooperation with Leica. The smartphone is the first product developed under a new Strategic Co creation Model, which involves deeper collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica from early product design through to imaging technology and user experience.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra introduces a flat display design for the first time in the Ultra series and features a slim body with refined ergonomics. The device is available in multiple color options and supports updated photography kits with magnetic attachment along with a thin protective case designed for everyday use.

The phone features a triple camera system that includes an ultra wide lens, a Leica one inch main camera and a 200MP telephoto camera covering mid to long focal lengths. Improvements in optical design and image processing aim to deliver more consistent results in low light and high contrast scenes. The telephoto camera uses an advanced lens structure to support optical zoom without digital cropping and has received Leica APO certification to reduce color fringing.

On the performance side, Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and uses an advanced cooling system to manage heat during heavy workloads. The display supports a high refresh rate and high peak brightness while balancing power efficiency. A large battery is included alongside fast wired and wireless charging support.

Connectivity features include wide global network band support, UWB based digital car key functionality and improved audio through upgraded stereo speakers with AI noise reduction. The device also carries multiple IP ratings for water and dust resistance and runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, enabling cross device connectivity including support for Apple device mirroring features.

Xiaomi also announced additional products at the event including the Xiaomi Watch 5 Series with upgraded health tracking and gesture controls and Xiaomi Buds 6 with improved audio performance and AI based features.
